The third Godly Play European Trainers conference is all about sharing.

Sharing the good, the bad and, when things fell apart.
Sharing ideas, research and practices.

Our circle of trainers is a special place, full of love for Godly Play. Come to join the circle. Come to play. Come to share.

Childhood Spirituality
What’s in your pot?
How do you present and explore childhood spirituality in your Accredited Training courses? Is it all in the pot? or do you mix in some Powerpoint? What works best for your circles?
Training Bumps!
I wonder what you could have left out of a training course and still had all the training you needed?
A chance to share some of the less than perfect experiences from training and gather ideas on how to manage these sticky and uncomfortable experiences.
What Next ... ?
I wonder what happens after the Accredited Training? What’s next on this incredible journey?
How do we encourage our Storytellers and Door People to keep journeying with us?

Godly Play Materials - Latvia
Valters has been making Godly Play materials since 2016, continuing the work that Johanna Kaarto-Wallin started in Finland in the early 2000’s. Valter’s goal is to create beautifully crafted materials, which are a joy for both storytellers and children.
Diaconia Leipzig
The Diaconia Leipzig employs more than 400 people with special needs in three different workshops, called the “Linden Workshops”. One of these workshops has been making Godly Play materials for almost 20 years.
Cornerstone Bookshop, Edinburgh
Cornerstone Bookshop is part of St. John’s Church at the corner of Edinburgh’s Princes Street and Lothian Road. They are independent, ecumenical and inclusive, providing spiritual, pastoral and theological resources. Not just books, but cards, gifts and church supplies.
About the venue
Mayfield Salisbury Church has always been a vibrant worshipping community. It’s history dates back to the late nineteenth century. The site for the church, at the corner of West Mayfield, was selected in July 1876, and the main sanctuary was completed in 1879, the spire being added in 1894.
Godly Play has been spoken at Mayfield Salisbury for almost 15 years.
Mayfield Salisbury Church is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the city centre and Edinburgh’s famous Waverely Station.
There are Guest Houses and Hotels nearby. If you would prefer to stay a little farther out of the city centre, it’s on Lothian Bus route 12, with stops for routes 3, 7, 29, 31, 37 and 49 nearby.
Lothian Buses have a brilliant app, which makes it easy to keep track of bus times and any route changes. You can download it here.
Payment is via he contactless taptapcap system – tap the same card or mobile payment device for every journey across the entire network, and the following morning they automatically charge you the cheapest adult daily fare for the journeys you’ve made. Currently this is capped at £4.80 per day!
About Edinburgh
Edinburgh has been Scotland’s capital city since 1437. The heart of the city is compact and hilly, with a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. together, the Old Town and New Town are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Edinburgh Castle is at the heart of the city. Home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny. Down the Royal Mile you find the Palace of Holyrood and the new Scottish Parliament buildings. In between you can find John Knox’s House, the Scottish Storytelling Centre, St Giles’s Cathedral (the High Kirk of Edinburgh), the Canongate, Greyfriars and lots of tourist shops and cafes.
Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.
The city is a cultural centre, probably best known for the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe, the latter being the world’s largest annual international arts festival.
